DOGS ON BEACHES:
Please remember that, if you are thinking of bringing your dog,

A...many beaches in North Devon do not allow them in the summer. Please do not leave your dog in the car - you may think the amount of air coming through a slightly open window may be enough.
The Police or RSPCA may take a different view - the recent high profile case of the Police Dog Handler should bring home how dangerous cars can be.

B...if you do decide to bring your furry friend, think about shelter and drinking water. You may be there all day with plenty of drinks for yourselves, but nothing for  your dog. It cannot drink sea water!
Dogs can suffer heatstroke too and cannot find shelter on a swelteringly hot beach unless you, the pack leader, provides it.
It may be better to leave them at home in kennels or with a friend or relative. Better still, give the friend or relative a free holiday in your home whilst you are away. They may like a change of scenery!
